Jaipur CM Office Bomb Threat: Man Arrested After Threat Call, Police Launch Investigation

A man was arrested in Jaipur after allegedly making a bomb threat against the Rajasthan Chief Minister’s Office, triggering a security response in the city. Police said the threat was made through the Dial 112 emergency number, following which security teams carried out a detailed search of the premises.

According to Jaipur police, the threatening call was received on August 18 at around 9:30 am through the police control room’s Dial 112 service. The caller allegedly threatened to blow up the Chief Minister’s Office.

The information was treated seriously and police immediately began taking security measures. Bomb disposal and anti-sabotage teams were sent to the Chief Minister’s Office to check the premises and look for any suspicious object.

A thorough search was conducted, but no explosive or suspicious object was found at the location. The absence of any device helped ease concerns at the premises, although police continued their investigation to identify the person responsible for the threat.

Following the initial response, a case was registered at the Vidhayakpuri police station on the basis of a report submitted by Assistant Sub-Inspector Amar Singh, who was posted with the Jaipur Police Control Room.

Police teams subsequently began tracing the mobile number used to make the threatening call. Investigators used the location information associated with the number to narrow down the search for the suspect.

According to police, the investigation eventually led officers to the Pratap Nagar area of Jaipur. A police team located and arrested the suspected caller from the area.

The accused has been identified as Lala Kothari, 39, son of Khemraj Kothari. He is a resident of Deoli in Sawai Madhopur district and was reportedly living in a rented house in the Pratap Nagar area of Jaipur.

During questioning, police said the accused admitted to making the call while under the influence of alcohol. He allegedly told investigators that he had called the Jaipur PCR’s Dial 112 number and provided a false warning about a bomb at the Chief Minister’s Office.

Police are continuing to question the accused to establish the circumstances surrounding the call and determine why the threat was made. Investigators are also examining other aspects of the incident as part of the ongoing probe.

The incident demonstrates how seriously authorities respond to threats involving important government installations. Even when a threat ultimately turns out to be false, police and security agencies are required to treat such information as potentially genuine until the concerned location has been properly searched.

In this case, the security response involved checking the Chief Minister’s Office after the threatening call was received. The search did not result in the discovery of an explosive device, according to officials.

The investigation also highlights the role of emergency communication systems in responding to security-related information. The threat was communicated through Dial 112, allowing the police control room to alert the relevant authorities and initiate an immediate response.

Police are now focusing on the accused’s movements, the circumstances in which the call was made and the motive behind the alleged false information. Officials have not indicated that an actual explosive device was present at the Chief Minister’s Office.

The arrest came after police traced the mobile number used for the call, showing the importance of digital and telecommunications evidence in investigations involving threatening communications.

Authorities are expected to establish the complete sequence of events during the investigation. The questioning of the accused may also help police determine whether the call was an isolated act or whether there were any other circumstances connected to the incident.

The case has once again drawn attention to security procedures surrounding government offices in Jaipur. Whenever a bomb threat is received, authorities must assess the possibility of an immediate danger, secure the location and conduct appropriate searches before declaring the premises safe.

For now, the police investigation remains underway. The accused is in police custody for questioning, while officials continue to examine the threat call and the circumstances behind it.

The incident did not result in the discovery of a bomb at the Rajasthan Chief Minister’s Office, according to the information released by police. The focus of the investigation has instead shifted to the alleged false threat, the accused’s intention and the circumstances that led to the emergency call.

As the inquiry progresses, further details may emerge regarding the case and any legal action taken against the accused. Police will determine the applicable charges based on the investigation and evidence collected in connection with the threatening call.
