Hero MotoCorp has upgraded the Glamour X 125 with a major safety feature, making its premium commuter motorcycle even more competitive in India’s 125cc segment. The new Hero Glamour X 125 with Integrated-ABS has been launched at an ex-showroom price of ₹1.01 lakh in Delhi, adding single-channel ABS to a motorcycle that already comes with features such as cruise control, multiple riding modes and smartphone connectivity.
The new version is particularly significant because Hero says the Glamour X becomes the first motorcycle in the 125cc segment to combine single-channel ABS with an Integrated Braking System, or IBS. The company is positioning the upgrade as a major step toward bringing advanced braking technology to more affordable commuter motorcycles.
The new ABS-equipped Glamour X does not replace the existing versions. Hero continues to sell the Drum and Disc variants alongside the new model. The Drum version is priced at ₹89,999, while the Disc version costs ₹99,999, making the new ABS model ₹1,001 more expensive than the existing Disc variant.
The most important addition is the single-channel ABS system. ABS is designed to prevent the front wheel from locking during hard braking, helping the rider maintain greater control, particularly when braking suddenly or when road grip is reduced.
The Glamour X goes a step further by combining ABS with IBS. The integrated braking system links braking forces between the front and rear wheels, helping provide a more balanced braking response. According to Hero, this combination is intended to improve stability and reduce braking-related risks.
This is an important development for the 125cc commuter segment because braking technology has traditionally been one of the areas where more affordable motorcycles have offered fewer advanced features than premium motorcycles.
Hero is now bringing the technology to a motorcycle positioned between conventional commuter bikes and more premium 125cc machines.
The Glamour X already had a relatively long list of features for its category. The motorcycle comes with a 124.7cc air-cooled single-cylinder petrol engine using Hero’s Sprint-EBT technology. The engine produces 11.4bhp at 8,250rpm and 10.5Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm.
Power is sent to the rear wheel through a five-speed gearbox.
The engine has been designed not only to provide adequate performance for daily commuting but also to deliver smoother power delivery. Hero’s Sprint-EBT technology incorporates Engine Balancer Technology, which is intended to reduce unwanted vibration and improve refinement.
One of the unusual features of the Glamour X 125 is its three riding modes.
Riders can choose between Eco, Road and Power modes depending on their requirements. Eco mode is intended to prioritise efficiency, while Road mode provides a balanced setup for everyday riding. Power mode is designed for riders who want a more responsive performance character.
The motorcycle also comes with cruise control, a feature that is still relatively uncommon in the 125cc commuter category.
Cruise control can be useful during longer rides because it allows the rider to maintain a set speed without continuously holding the throttle at the same position. It is particularly relevant for riders who use their motorcycles for longer highway or intercity journeys rather than purely short urban commutes.
Hero has also equipped the Glamour X with a multi-colour LCD instrument cluster featuring Bluetooth connectivity. The display provides turn-by-turn navigation, distance-to-empty information and gear-position assistance, while an ambient light sensor helps adjust the display according to surrounding conditions.
The motorcycle also features Hero’s signature ‘H’ full-LED lighting package. This includes the LED headlamp, integrated position lights and LED tail lamp, giving the Glamour X a more premium appearance than traditional commuter motorcycles.
For the new ABS variant, Hero has introduced two additional exterior finishes: Gun Metal Grey and Matt Axis Grey. These are offered alongside the existing Black Pearl Red and Black Teal Blue colour options.
The styling remains one of the motorcycle’s key selling points.
The Glamour X uses a muscular design with sharp character lines and sculpted bodywork. Rather than following the simple commuter-bike styling traditionally associated with the segment, Hero has given the motorcycle a sportier and more aggressive appearance.
The new braking system therefore comes as part of a motorcycle that is already positioned as a more feature-heavy alternative to conventional 125cc commuters.
The new variant’s ₹1.01 lakh ex-showroom Delhi price puts it directly into competition with several premium 125cc motorcycles.
Hero’s own Xtreme 125R is one of the most important comparisons. The Xtreme 125R is positioned as the sportier motorcycle in Hero’s 125cc portfolio, while the Glamour X combines commuter practicality with a more premium set of features.
The Glamour X also competes against motorcycles such as the TVS Raider 125 and Honda CB125 Hornet. Autocar India notes that the Glamour X joins these models in offering ABS in the segment, while Hero’s Xtreme 125R goes further with a dual-channel ABS configuration on its higher-end variant.
That makes the new Glamour X particularly interesting for buyers who want safety technology but do not necessarily want a fully sporty motorcycle.
The motorcycle’s braking hardware is also worth understanding before comparing it with dual-channel ABS systems.
The new Glamour X uses single-channel ABS. This means the anti-lock system primarily manages the front-wheel braking system, rather than independently controlling ABS on both wheels. It should therefore not be considered equivalent to a dual-channel ABS motorcycle.
However, the addition of IBS means braking input is distributed between the front and rear systems to improve balance. This combination is intended to make emergency braking more controlled without adding the complexity and cost of a dual-channel setup.
For everyday city riding, this could be a useful compromise.
The Glamour X also retains features such as panic brake alert and hazard lamps, adding another layer of visibility during emergency braking situations.
The motorcycle’s suspension setup is designed around conventional commuter-bike requirements, with telescopic front suspension and a five-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorber at the rear. The adjustable rear suspension allows riders to alter the setup according to load and riding conditions.
The bike uses alloy wheels and tubeless tyres, while the overall package is designed to remain practical for everyday use.
The new ABS version weighs around the same as the existing motorcycle, so the addition of the braking hardware does not fundamentally change the Glamour X’s commuter-friendly character.
The motorcycle’s seat height is around 798mm, while ground clearance is approximately 180mm. These dimensions give it enough clearance for typical Indian road conditions while keeping the riding position accessible to a broad range of riders.
The fuel tank capacity is around 10 litres, which gives the Glamour X reasonable range for daily commuting and longer rides.
Fuel economy will naturally depend on riding style, traffic and road conditions. Some third-party sources list claimed or tested figures around the mid-60kmpl range, but real-world mileage can vary substantially depending on how and where the motorcycle is ridden.
The biggest question for potential buyers is whether the new ABS version is worth paying for over the existing Disc variant.
On paper, the answer is relatively straightforward because the price difference is only around ₹1,000. The Disc variant costs ₹99,999, while the new Integrated-ABS version costs ₹1,01,000 ex-showroom Delhi.
For such a small difference, the additional safety hardware makes the ABS version the more attractive choice for buyers who are already considering the Disc model.
The price gap becomes even more interesting when compared with the overall equipment list.
The Glamour X already offers technology that is uncommon at this price, including riding modes, cruise control, Bluetooth connectivity, navigation assistance and LED lighting. Adding ABS to that package makes the motorcycle one of the more feature-rich options in the 125cc category.
However, buyers should remember that the ₹1.01 lakh figure is an ex-showroom Delhi price.
The actual amount paid at the dealership will be higher after registration, road tax, insurance and other applicable charges. The on-road price also varies by state and city.
For example, third-party pricing data shows that the final on-road price of the Glamour X can move significantly above its ex-showroom figure depending on location and variant.
The new variant is being rolled out across Hero MotoCorp dealerships in India, giving customers the opportunity to choose the ABS-equipped model without moving into a substantially more expensive motorcycle category.
Hero’s decision to introduce ABS on the Glamour X also reflects a broader shift in the Indian two-wheeler market.
Customers are increasingly looking beyond basic mileage and affordability when choosing commuter motorcycles. Features such as connected displays, navigation, riding modes, cruise control and advanced braking systems are becoming increasingly important, especially among younger buyers.
Manufacturers are responding by adding technology that was previously associated with larger and more expensive motorcycles.
The Glamour X is a good example of this transition.
It still uses a relatively small 125cc engine and retains the practicality expected from a commuter motorcycle, but its feature list moves it closer to premium motorcycles.
The new Integrated-ABS version strengthens that positioning further.
For a rider who mainly uses the motorcycle for city commuting, the biggest benefit of ABS is the additional assistance during hard braking. For someone who frequently rides on highways or in unpredictable traffic, the safety upgrade could be even more valuable.
Still, ABS does not eliminate the need for responsible riding. It cannot compensate for excessive speed, poor tyre condition, unsafe following distances or dangerous riding behaviour. The rider remains responsible for maintaining control of the motorcycle.
The Hero Glamour X 125 with Integrated-ABS therefore represents a relatively small change in price but a meaningful improvement in safety equipment.
At ₹1.01 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, it sits just above the existing Disc version while adding single-channel ABS and retaining the motorcycle’s existing combination of technology, performance and commuter practicality.
With the Drum and Disc variants continuing alongside it at ₹89,999 and ₹99,999 respectively, buyers now have three versions of the Glamour X to choose from.
For customers who are focused purely on keeping the purchase price low, the Drum variant remains the entry point. Those wanting the conventional disc-brake setup can choose the Disc version. But for buyers willing to spend roughly ₹1,000 more than the Disc model, the new Integrated-ABS version offers a compelling safety upgrade.
The new Hero Glamour X 125 therefore isn’t just another cosmetic variant. The addition of ABS addresses one of the most important aspects of motorcycle safety while allowing Hero to retain the features that made the Glamour X stand out in the first place.
At ₹1.01 lakh, it could become one of the most interesting premium commuter motorcycles for Indian buyers who want modern features without moving up to a larger engine category.
