Apple has unexpectedly released the first developer beta of iOS 27.2, just two days after the public launch of iOS 27. Instead of following the expected beta sequence for iOS 27.1, Apple has moved directly to iOS 27.2 beta 1, giving developers an early look at the next major iPhone software update. Apple’s developer portal confirms that iOS 27.2 beta testing began on September 16, 2026.
The iOS 27.2 Beta 1 release brings several changes across Apple’s ecosystem, with the redesigned Health app standing out as one of the biggest additions. The update also expands Siri AI language support, introduces Apple TV profiles on iPhone and iPad, adds new options for CarPlay Ultra, and includes smaller interface changes in apps such as Podcasts, Music and Clock.
One of the most significant changes in iOS 27.2 Beta 1 is the redesigned Health app. Apple has reorganized the application around three main areas: Insights, Longevity and Browse. The Insights section is designed to surface recent and relevant health information, including metrics such as sleep, heart rate and activity, while the Longevity section focuses on longer-term health trends.
