Shiprocket made a strong debut on the Indian stock exchanges on Wednesday, August 19, with its shares listing at a significant premium over the IPO issue price. The e-commerce logistics platform’s shares opened at ₹131 on the NSE, compared with the issue price of ₹97, delivering a 35% listing gain to investors.
On the BSE, Shiprocket shares began trading at ₹130, also marking a substantial premium over the IPO price. The strong opening reflected the high investor interest generated during the public issue and positive expectations around the company’s technology-driven logistics business.
Shiprocket had launched its ₹1,617.48 crore IPO in August. The issue carried a price band of ₹92 to ₹97 per share and comprised a fresh issue of around ₹885.50 crore along with an offer for sale of about ₹731.98 crore.
The IPO received strong demand from investors during the subscription period. The issue was ultimately subscribed nearly 99.4 times, with institutional investors showing particularly strong interest.
Shiprocket operates an e-commerce enablement platform that provides merchants with technology and services covering areas such as order management, shipping, fulfilment, returns, analytics and payments. The company served more than 214,000 active merchants in FY2026.
The company’s business model has attracted attention because of its exposure to India’s expanding e-commerce ecosystem. Rising online shopping, digital payments and increasing adoption of e-commerce outside major metropolitan cities are expected to support demand for logistics and fulfilment services.
Shiprocket plans to use the proceeds from the fresh issue for investments in its core and emerging businesses, repayment or prepayment of certain borrowings, potential acquisitions and general corporate purposes.
The company’s strong listing also comes after considerable market interest ahead of its debut. Grey market indications had suggested a sizeable premium, although such unofficial market indicators do not guarantee the actual listing price or future stock performance.
The positive debut has pushed Shiprocket’s market valuation significantly higher. Reuters reported that the company’s valuation reached around ₹10,010 crore, or approximately $1.05 billion, during early trading.
The strong debut is an encouraging start for Shiprocket, but the listing gain should not be viewed as a guarantee of sustained performance. The company’s ability to grow its merchant base, expand its technology platform and improve financial performance will remain important factors for its long-term prospects.
Shiprocket’s debut also highlights continued investor interest in India’s new-age technology and e-commerce businesses. Its performance in the listed market will now be closely watched as the company moves from the IPO stage into its next phase of growth.
